Built by founders who've been there

We started meridexavora in early 2023 after spending years watching talented people struggle with startup finances. Not because they lacked good ideas—but because nobody explained how money actually works when you're building something from scratch.

Most finance courses teach theory. We teach what happens when you're three months from launch and your runway's getting short. The stuff you learn at 2am when the numbers don't add up.

Our programmes focus on real startup scenarios—cap tables that make sense, investor conversations that don't waste time, and financial models that actually help you make decisions. Everything's designed for people who want to build businesses, not become accountants.

Who's teaching you

Two people who funded startups the hard way and figured out what actually matters.

Rhiannon Elsworth

Co-Founder & Programme Director

Raised £2.3M for her first startup in 2019—then watched half of it disappear into expenses she didn't plan for. Spent the next three years learning financial planning the expensive way. Now teaches founders how to avoid the mistakes that nearly sank her company. Previously worked in venture operations where she reviewed hundreds of pitch decks and saw the same funding errors repeated constantly.

Saskia Pemberton

Co-Founder & Finance Lead

Started as a freelance CFO helping early-stage companies after leaving corporate finance in 2020. Noticed most founders were making decisions based on incomplete information—not because they were careless, but because nobody showed them what questions to ask. Created meridexavora's curriculum from real client situations where better financial understanding would've saved months of stress. Has worked with 40+ startups across different industries.

How we actually teach this

  • Case studies from real startups

You'll work through scenarios based on actual companies—some that succeeded, some that didn't. We show you the financial decisions at each turning point and what happened next. Names changed, numbers real.

  • Tools you'll use after the course ends

Every session includes spreadsheets and frameworks you can adapt for your own business. We're not interested in theoretical exercises—if it doesn't help you six months from now, we don't teach it.

  • Small groups that actually discuss things

Maximum 12 people per cohort. You'll get to know everyone's financial challenges and learn from their situations too. Some of our best insights come from group conversations when someone asks a question nobody else wanted to admit they had.

  • Office hours when you need help

After each module, we run open sessions where you can bring your actual business numbers and get feedback. Most people find these more valuable than the formal lessons.
